a summer wishlist

I wish for a slow summer,
to lose track of the days.

I wish for bike rides to farmer's markets,
to eat berry after berry,
and to bake with them too.

I wish for meals outdoors on blankets,
to capture moments on film,
to fill albums with memories just for us. 

I wish for days filled with books and snuggles,
to scribble thoughts on paper,
to craft and paint and get messy.

I wish to be with my loved ones, 
to soak in each moment with my babies, 
little feelings, big feelings, all of it. 

I wish to wander with old friends,
to explore unfamiliar places,
to deepen my freckles in the sun.

I wish to embrace our bare calendar, 
and take each day as it comes.
